Graceful Gaura
This is a recent purchase and looks very similar to the wildflower Rose Bay Willow Herb I think. It is a summer-flowering perennial that can be short-lived. It is supposedly fully-hardy, but I have seen them in other gardens in the village, and they haven't made it through the winter, so we shall see. It prefers well drained soil in full sun and flowers all summer through to autumn. It can be propagated from softwood cuttings or by seed in spring. It should grow to a height of about 4ft. The colour of the flowers is a gentle pink. Not a showy plant, very delicate and feminine.

The delicate pink flowers against the foliage is lovely! What a beautiful bloomer!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see someone's gaura is doing well. Mine used to bloom madly and showily but I think it's on holiday this year!
