too much excitement …

The wind is still blowing a hooley.

One of our fence panels is now firewood.

I am feeling slightly under the weather.

Too much excitement, too many late nights and too much rich food.

We are off to the coast tomorrow for a long weekend.

Hopefully the sea air will be restorative and I will return to my normal self.

Hope you all had a good Christmas.

  1. Oh how I know how you feel, only we do not have the sea air to revive us. I plan to purge the kitchen today and get vegetables back in stock. Hope you get to feeling better.

  2. Hope you enjoy the sea air, Elaine. Don't get blown away though, it's pretty rough in most parts of the country at present.

  5. Oh I know EXACTLY how you feel....I'm suffering with a horrid cold and have been out far too much and frankly I'm sick of food! Have a wonderful weekend, I hope you feel better soon. I loved that first pic....gorgeous.
We have the raging winds too....my olive tree outside the front door is rolling down the drive and now has no pot! Hopefully they'll die down soon eh....xxx

  8. I'm so pleased that we both managed to control our appetites, and have not felt at all 'bloated' this year. However, after 4 days of (delicious) Turkey I shall be quite happy to wish it goodbye. A simple 'rice and dahl' should bring the system back to normal. Have a lovely weekend.

  14. I echo your sentiments! Too much food! A rich dinner in Manhattan last night did nothing but stir up more trouble for me. Broth and juice for me tomorrow! Enjoy your holiday!

  16. Slightly under the weather here too, though in our case it's a mild cold we all seem to be sharing. How wonderful a weekend by the sea sounds. Here's hoping it was as restorative as you'd hoped. Wishing you and yours only good things in 2014 Elaine x
