just my luck …

Woke up on Friday morning with a sore throat. Uh-oh!  Woke up Saturday morning with a  stinking headache and bathed in sweat. Uh-oh! From then on it was downhill all the way. I haven’t had a bad cold for several years and thought myself lucky ~ now I am paying for it. I blame this mild winter. Not cold enough to kill all the germs that are lurking. My bedside table looks like a chemist shop. I hate being ill.

Hopefully next time I post I should be over the worst. Fingers crossed.

Did I mention that I hate being ill!

‘Til next time – Mrs. Grumpy.

  2. There is nothing for it but to take to your bed, copious amounts of tea perhaps with a wee nip of something stronger, good magazines and books, woolly socks and soothing music.

  4. As is often said; if you treat a cold with every remedy known to mankind, it will last for 2 weeks. If you treat it with nothing, it will last for just 14 days. May I suggest a pile of good books (I always read Jude the Obscure when I'm ill), and plenty of hot lemon and honey. Best wishes.

  10. Horrible and not easy to remember you'll stop feeling ill while it goes on. But it will and I hope it's sooner than 14 days.

  11. Can you buy Zicam cold remedy--the mouth spray version--in England?
It tastes absolutely horrible, and leaves your mouth yukky but i am convinced it has helped nip my colds in the bud--it works best when you first feel symptoms.

Eeek! Now i must go "knock on wood" and perform every other superstition busting ritual i can think of!!

May that nasty virus hustle its bustle out of your system ASAP!!
