the end of a perfect day …

The day had been hot … tired after a busy day … we drove down the hill to the lake … in search of the cool evening.

SDC10906

So quiet … and tranquil … the water still.

SDC10907

A swan puffed its wings … pushed hard … and glided past.

SDC10912

A family of geese … startled by our presence scuttled into the water.

SDC10903

The sun slowly sinking … sending golden rays shimmering into the dying light …

SDC10905

Peaceful …

SDC10914

Just the birds singing their last song …

SDC10919

Cooled by the gentle breeze off the water …

SDC10920

We headed home …

SDC10902

The end of a perfect day.

  2. Hello Elaine:

How lovely to have such a place, obviously within easy reach of you, to which to retreat at the end of a late spring day which, from that which we read, was unseasonably warm. It looks from your most appealing images to be the perfect spot for a summer picnic supper.
