the wanderer returns ...

Hello!
I have been away
but
now I'm back
with stories to tell.
I have missed our little chats.

Hot sun and cooling breezes.  The beach - seeming to  stretch to the edge of the world. A perfect part of the east coast.  Surf rolling in - hissing and swooshing over the pebbles.  The tide line a mass of razor shells crunching beneath your feet.  The rhythmic sounds  soporific as  the water ebbs and flows - holding your gaze  it mesmerises - the sun glinting off the water like water sprites  luring you in with false promises.

I return home refreshed and revitalised.

    1. Thank you Cheryl. We only had a couple of really nice days and luckily one of them was spent in this beautiful spot - I would have been quite happy to sit staring at the sea all day but husband gets itchy feet.

  13. Welcome back Elaine! I'm glad to read that you've returned home raring to go. The coast is always my preferred holiday destination whilst himself yearns for mountains.

    1. Thanks Anna - I always feel a proper holiday should be by the coast probably because we live in a landlocked place - there always seems to be more air to breathe by the sea - perhaps that's just my imagination, but it always makes me feel better.

  14. Dear Elaine- so glad you are back. Your photo is beautiful. Looks like the perfect scene to help you rest and relax. How is your garden doing. Bet it is happy to have you back too.?

    1. Dear Debbie - thank you it is nice to be back. I took over 200 photos whilst we were away and didn't know which ones to choose so I thought I would just keep it simple - and for me it just about says it all. The garden looked bursting with colour when we went through the garden gate - my friend did a good job keeping it all watered for me. Since our return I have been in the garden constantly just wandering through all the beautiful flowers, weeding and deadheading - doing what I do best - pottering about!

  29. How lovely to find you back again, and returned from the sea. I barely seem to have seen the sea this year, or rather we can see the estuary from atop the moor and just glimse the coast proper but we simply haven't travelled in that direction recently, and even then, it's the mucky 'ol Irish sea, not the Atlantic or the Channel. Oh how I long to return to the Suffolk seaside villages we always say we'll retire to, or the Western Isles, ditto!

Here's hoping you carry your sense of revitalisation right through the summer.
