A Backward Glance at 2015

Another day dawns  grey and dreary with mist and rain; I find myself wishing for sunlight and blue skies, so I begin to plough through the hundreds of photographs I have taken this year.  They bring back memories as clear as a rock pool; of the garden when it was full of colour and flowers; the sun warm on my skin;  walks that I took everyday photographing everything and anything that caught my eye.  Below are just a few that capture the feeling of the seasons.  With love from me to you.

So there you have it - my year in pictures (the short version) - I'm not sure just how many pictures I took over the year - but, believe me - it was a lot.  Hope you enjoyed some of my favourites that I have included this year.

One day at a time - this is enough.  Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come.  Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering" ~ Anon.

    1. Thanks Jackie. Without photographs you so easily forget what the year was like don't you. This is my favourite thing to do in December bringing back so many happy memories - I remember taking that picture in June - a walk by the canal - I thought at the time that it looked like something that Constable may have painted.

  3. Of course, Elaine, anything English. LOL. Actually your photography is splendid and we are all lonesome for our little pretties. My favorite, daffodils. While you have mist and rain, so Jane Ayer-ish--we have what looks like to be sun and a lot of snow on the ground. It is 16 degrees F this early morning, making it very cold. I just need some beautiful red berries in the yard to photograph as you have. Have nice evening. Stay warm and dry.

    1. Thanks Ann. There is so little in the garden at the moment that just seeing all these flower pictures makes me yearn for Spring. Here, it is very mild and bulbs are popping through already - they will get quite a shock when it does eventually turn cold.

  9. Such beauty on the shifting face of the world. I must say I love the thought of a day filled with mist and rain; we are heading towards a heatwave next week, and all of me cringes with miserable anticipation. I hope 2016 brings you more beauty of the kind you especially love.

  15. Dear Elaine - you know it is always a very special treat to revel in your beautiful photographs (they often make me think about the choice of a city like Berlin over a rural scenery then I read about it instead).
