That´s really a poor Penstemon, I imagine she feels neglected. With winter coming I think you better put the plant in the greenhouse or other place inside so that you can look for a nice spot in spring in your garden.
Ahhhhh, there lies the problem. The cold,wind and rain prevents such jobs from getting done. I have many such neglected plants awaiting care and attention....and mounds of leaves that need moving, and bushes that need pruning....I mean well but somehow I always make another cup of tea....xxxxx
If it's anything like my still unplanted plants it might be destined to spend the winter in its pot! It looks very happy though, so I'm sure it'll be fine :-)
